So as some of you may have heard, I (Dragon!) am bringing in a Valkyrie, by the name of Lenneth. In IS, which believe it or not has had Valkyrie references tucked away in the setting page since always, Valkyries serve the Lord of War. With Hades awakening and Ragnarok on the horizon, Lenneth is charged with collecting and training Einherjar to send to the Halls of Valor. (Ragnarok is occurring because I apped her. I apologize for breaking the game. ^.^ )

This means that if your character dies, and has at least SOME potentially redeeming quality, they can live on as an Einherjar if you so desire them to escape death that way! (They can also exchange themselves to save another who has died. So long as one dead person and one live person go in and one dead, one live come out, the cosmos is okay.)

In the meantime, if you are doing bad things to the balance, you may get a visit from a meddling goddess. Ordinary human wars don't count; bad things are such things as being undead, using necromancy or other black or corrupt magics, or constantly committing unfathomable, unspeakable acts in the name of wanting to bone the Valkyrie. (Lezard you have fewer good qualities than Black Mage.)

An important question!

What if we're already effectively dead but rolling around as a heroic spirit being awesome.

I can think of at least 3 characters that qualify for this, possibly 4 including jeanne.

A stern lecture from the Valkyrie on not going on to a proper end, since souls aren't supposed to hang out once they're dead. After that, joining would presumably be an option!

And also, it's kind of a thing for Hades to hate flirt with any goddess he meets. Usually by giving them nicknames. 'Sides calling her the obligatory Goddess of Death, or Mininami, there's also... Lennsie. Little Lenneth. Something. Just saying.
