Tournament Update, Ball, end of Spring Court
So, we're getting down to the wire now, so I will announce that the Grand Ball will begin on Friday.
Now, the initial intent was the winner of the Women's Bracket and the winner of the Men's bracket would be the honored couple of the evening. Since it's not certain if we'll have a determined winner by then, we'll go to the emergency round which goes as follows:
Any tournament not finished by by this Friday evening (around 6:00 PDT) will go into the grand melee. All contestants still left will be thrown into the ring, and the last one standing and with most of their teeth intact wins. Feel free to plan for that eventuality here, but if there's no firm decision I will likely be rolling a die, eliminating anybody who says they don't intend to win.
The ball itself will be open to everyone, and will involve good drinks, dancing, revelry, and pretty dresses (possibly on both genders depending on how freely the aforementioned drinks are spread). It will be pretty open, so you guys will generally be free to do whatever!
The ball will go until Sunday evening, at which point there will be a large event that will end the Spring Court, the First Act, and the life of the Emperor. There will be some big things waiting in the wings, so look forward to it!
All discussion and reporting tournament winners can go in this thread, here are the current brackets:
Men's Bracket
Women's Bracket
In addition, please say if you do not want your character to be in the running for winning the grand melee, should it come to that here. If you don't, I will assume that they have a shot at it. The Grand Melee will be initiated at 6:00 PM PDT Friday night. Unless there is a firm consensus of who will win it when it is initiated and the ball post goes up, I will roll a die for both tournaments to decide a winner based on all remaining combatants. Characters will also have the opportunity to simply opt-out of the grand melee, obviously forfeiting their ability to win.

Arturia can defeat Rip (I think that's what we agreed on), so she would go on next in the women's bracket. If Arturia beats Nero in the women's bracket, they might potentially fight again? Is that how that was going to play out?
As for the men's bracket, Arturia can lose to Nero in that. It would be her second loss and she would be eliminated.
I'm not familiar with Sara for her fight against Cornelia though. Any last minute plotting?

Technically Arty's got the advantage since she has the awesome magic sword, but like hell that's gunna stop Nero. So uh. Whatever happens, I think it'd be a pretty darn close battle.

By that I mean yes, that should totally happen then. Though I guess we should question whether it would totally blow their cover or not.

BUT YEAH LET'S DO THIS SHIT.

Currently to waiting to see who his third opponent is. Either Alucard or Sonic.

And it looks like Kira and Athrun will be fighting.

I'd like to have Skrimir at least do well in the Grand Melee, since close-quarters-melee-chaos is what he's specialized for and he can take one hell of a beating. I do not expect him to win, though.
Sadly I'll be gone for a majority of the day/night, but I'll attempt to tag this when I get home late tonight

Nero here won her loser's match in the men's tournament, which means she is now Skrimir's opponent.
She's a swordfighter mostly, but she's also pretty darn good in unarmed combat. I should note that she's actually killed a lion with her bare hands before, so. That should help in figuring out who would win here.

He's also, uh, rather angry about previous fights so he'll be going at it with a side of extra ferocious right now. It shouldn't influence anything other than the impression left by the fight.

She also loves a good fight, so him being a FEROCIOUS MAN-LION won't really do much in the intimidation department. And unlike her other lookalikes, her sword isn't magic (she'll be using a different one anyway, so it won't give her away), so it really will just come down to a pure physical fight. She's pretty agile, too.
SO YEAH. I'm not really gunning for her to win the men's tournament
though it would be pretty funny, due to the whole "winners are the honored couple" stuff, so I'm totally up for anything!no subject

He'll still be bothered by the loss, but much less than the last one because of the lack of magic bs XD

But to even things out, "Julius" will be winning "his" loser's bracket match against "Wart" in the men's side!
