imperial_modsSo, we're getting down to the wire now, so I will announce that the Grand Ball will begin on Friday.
Now, the initial intent was the winner of the Women's Bracket and the winner of the Men's bracket would be the honored couple of the evening. Since it's not certain if we'll have a determined winner by then, we'll go to the emergency round which goes as follows:
Any tournament not finished by by this Friday evening (around 6:00 PDT) will go into the grand melee. All contestants still left will be thrown into the ring, and the last one standing and with most of their teeth intact wins. Feel free to plan for that eventuality here, but if there's no firm decision I will likely be rolling a die, eliminating anybody who says they don't intend to win.
The ball itself will be open to everyone, and will involve good drinks, dancing, revelry, and pretty dresses (possibly on both genders depending on how freely the aforementioned drinks are spread). It will be pretty open, so you guys will generally be free to do whatever!
The ball will go until Sunday evening, at which point there will be a large event that will end the Spring Court, the First Act, and the life of the Emperor. There will be some big things waiting in the wings, so look forward to it!

In addition, please say if you do not want your character to be in the running for winning the grand melee, should it come to that here. If you don't, I will assume that they have a shot at it. The Grand Melee will be initiated at 6:00 PM PDT Friday night. Characters will also have the opportunity to simply opt-out of the grand melee, obviously forfeiting their ability to win.
